Job Description
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Controller to join our construction industry client’s organization. This role involves managing and overseeing the financial and accounting operations of designated operating companies within their collection, ensuring that financial reporting and internal controls are timely, accurate, and consistent.
- Must live in Metro Detroit
Job Responsibilities
Prepare and oversee financial statements, budget variance analysis, and cost accounting reports.
Perform reconciliations and ensure accurate monthly financial closings.
Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Collaborate on project profitability reporting and WIP accounting.
Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard financial assets and streamline operations.
Lead and mentor site accounting teams, providing guidance on complex accounting issues.
Assist in year-end audits and ensure timely tax filings.
Handle financial special projects and support strategic decision-making.
Skills & Qualifications :
Strong ability to lead and develop teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
10+ years in accounting, with 5+ years in a senior role; experience in multi-location environments and project-based accounting.
Understanding of GAAP and ERP systems.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
