Job Description Summary

The position is focused on business case analysis for larger programs, company cross-business unit projects, plant loading, etc., and projects related to process and training for plant operations finance, including accounting, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, and executive level report outs. Position is directly responsible for the company business case model, capital plan, productivity process, and system projects. The position also supports compliance with the policies and procedures for the financial activities of the organization, including forecasts, budget development, and management, analyzing and interpreting financial data, and recommending changes to improve financial performance. The successful candidate will be leading all aspects of areas of risk for organization and acting as a resource to senior management regarding such matters and advising management on desired operational adjustments based on changes in industry standards and governmental regulations. Prepares materials for presentation to AAM executive leadership, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholder meetings.

Job Description

  • Directs cross-functional and cross-region resources in executing the departmental and organizational strategies connected to financial performance.
  • Manages associate outcomes by training, assigning, coaching, counseling, and correcting behaviors as needed; communicating job expectations; monitoring job contributions; and adhering to policies and procedures. Sets priorities for outcomes and resources.
  • Ensures adherence to standards, budgets, and departmental goals / operational objectives, based on company policies and available resources.
  • Establishes an environment to motivate others and to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Meets finance operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews, including preparing business cases, implementing productivity, resolving problems, and identifying system improvements.
  • Meets finance financial standards by providing annual budget information, monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Enforces the organization's financial practices by monitoring the application of accounting policies and procedures and conducting audits.
  • Improves the organization's financial status by analyzing variances and recommending action.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports by collecting, analyzing, consolidating, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Protects organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • BA / BS
  • Advanced Degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience
  • Automotive or manufacturing industry with plant controlling experience
