Job description

We are looking for an energetic and ambitious Working Farm Manager to join our forward-looking farming business in North Dorset.

Package : £55K open to negotiation

Accommodation- Available -3 bed house

Location - Dorset

THE COMPANY

We are seeking a technologically adept and hands-on individual to manage our clients farming enterprise. The ideal candidate will be able to run all aspects of our operations while being willing to engage directly in daily activities. This role involves overseeing approximately nearly acres of arable farming,

THE CANDIDATE

Ideally the candidate will have experience with :

  • Arable Farming Management : Implement new technology and adopt emerging farming practices to enhance productivity.
  • Field Operations : Manage machinery, crop production, and field operations.
  • Staff Management : Oversee the day-to-day activities of farm staff.
  • Grain Management : Handle grain drying and storage, coordinate logistics, and manage the purchasing of inputs.
  • Environmental Projects : Contribute to environmental and natural capital projects, working with local and national groups to maximize impact.
  • Grazing Management : Assist in managing the grazing of acres of low input grassland.
  • Reporting : Report to the business owners on progress against agreed objectives.
  • Estate Management : Perform other estate management tasks as required.

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Farm Management : Previous experience in arable farm management.
  • Driving License : Full UK driving license.
  • Farm Technology : Proficiency with modern farm technology and software.
  • Budget Management : Experience working within a budget and controlling costs.
  • Machinery Maintenance : Knowledge of servicing and maintaining modern farm equipment.
  • SFI and Natural Capital : Interest or knowledge in new SFI and natural capital options.
  • Compliance and Safety : Strong understanding of farm compliance and health and safety regulations.
  • Team Collaboration : Ability to work with and motivate team members.

    • BASIS qualified and experienced sprayer operator is would be an advantage.

    THE PACKAGE : Package : £55K (open to negotiation ) Including accomodation
