Adv & Trbl Engmnt Department Website Link Location Main Campus Address Tucson, AZ USA Position Highlights The Department of Native American Advancement and Tribal Engagement invites applications for the position of Executive Director (Government, Tribal, and Community Relations Manager III). The Executive Director will focus on tribal and community engagement at a national / local / state level, tribal philanthropy, Native American contracting / construction, and tribal economic and educational development. In addition to supervising professional staff; act as a tribal liaison and assist in the development of NAATE’s programs and events. To excel in this role, the Executive Director must demonstrate leadership, initiative, commitment, and an ability to motivate and influence others consistent with the UArizona’s land grant mission and commitment to institutional values.
This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of Native American issues and cultures, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to build and nurture relationships both internally and externally.

oNative American Advancement and Tribal Engagement : Spearheading initiatives to enhance the university's reputation as a leader in serving Native Nations, both within and beyond Arizona.
oRepresentation at National Conferences : Showcasing achievements and fostering networks at national conferences to expand the scope of services offered by the university's Native American Advancement and Tribal Engagement (NAATE) department.
oPartnership Procurement : Actively seeking partnerships with Native Nations located outside the state of Arizona to broaden the university's reach and impact.
oCollaboration with Campus Partners : Working closely with senior vice presidents (SVPs) and other campus partners to ensure alignment and synergy in advancing Native American initiatives and priorities.
oEngagement with Communications and Government Relations : Collaborating with communication and government relations teams to strengthen partnerships with governmental entities, enhancing the university's ability to serve Native Nations effectively.
