Job Summary :

The Paraprofessional Summer Learning Academy works directly with students under the direction of a Lead Teacher to provide high quality and engaging instruction.

Responsibilities

• Attend mandatory pre-summer professional development.
• In coordination with the teacher, deliver intentional and engaging academic instruction to students with focus on mitigating school year learning loss / preventing summer learning loss.
• Provide small and whole group instruction.
• Help ensure all outcome goals are on track to be met, including academic outcomes and social-emotional skill development outcomes.
• Assist teachers in conducting pre and post assessment.
• Manage a classroom of 10-12 students with and without disabilities.
• Assist and supervise campers in all aspects of self-care, including dressing and undressing, eating, grooming and hygiene, toileting, and any other areas of daily living. If camper is self-sufficient in these areas, close supervision and monitoring are still required.
• Other duties as assigned.
