Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium and large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Issues a high quantity of purchase orders to a supply base that is mostly established.
- Daily activities include quoting, negotiating, system data maintenance / entry, issuing / revising POs, tracking shipments, updating purchase order status and resolution of invoice issues.
- Work closely with program teams and suppliers to coordinate delivery dates.
- Update and maintain department policies and procedures. Obtain weekly status and delivery confirmations from suppliers.
- Ability to work in small cross-functional teams which include functions such as engineering, supplier quality, program management and planning.
- Reviews requisitions, statements of work, drawings, and supplier capabilities to aid in supplier selection.
- Responsible for compiling and distributing department metrics.
- Conducts in-depth research on new manufacturing processes, products, and price trends to assist in product development, value analysis, standardization, and recommended cost savings.
- Obtaining weekly status and delivery confirmations from suppliers and managing U.S. Government reporting per FAR and DFAR
- Perform other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or other Business study preferred.2-6 years’ experience in procurementAbility to obtain ATF approval to work with our products.Working knowledge of manufacturing activities, purchasing, materials, production process and inventory methodsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Proficient in MRP i.e. Project, Costpoint, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and internet for research.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :
Buyer I – 0-2 years with BA / BS
Buyer II – 3-5 years with BA / BS; 0-3 years with Masters
Buyer III – 6-10 years with BA / BS; 3-8 years with Masters
Buyer IV – 10-14 years with BA / BS; 8-12 years with Masters
COMPETENCIES :
U.S. Government reporting (FAR and DFAR) and specific supplier-related tasksExcellent communication and collaboration skills.Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.Ability to work in fast-paced environments.WORKING CONDITIONS :
