Description
The Childcare Youth Development Specialist is responsible for administrative compliance, programming, facility, and child safety. This position provides hands-on programming while creating a safe and engaging environment for our members. At the school sites, youth receive targeted services in a safe, supportive environment from staff who believe in the organization's mission. The Club experience focuses on three priority outcomes : Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Positive Citizenship.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Facility and Child Safety :
- Accountable for adherence to all organizational health and safety policies and implementation of all safety practices and procedures at assigned site
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. Abide by facility maintenance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance
- Accountable for reporting incidents and completing documentation within required timeline
- Maintain discipline, de-escalate conflict between members and / or others
- Obtain and renew CPR and First Aid certification by deadline
Administrative Compliance :
Complete all required reports and administrative duties on time.Collect and manage required data and internal and external reporting. Ensure accuracy of data and reporting. Ensure the effective completion of all assessment and measurement activities of programsComply with all administrative policies and procedures, processes and controlsAccountable for accurate and timely collection and review of membership applicationAccountable for accurate and timely paperwork, reports, and data entryAccountable for utilizing all BGCGTC communication tools regularly and effectivelyProgramming :

Education and work experience requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent6 months of experience working with youthMust meet state requirements for employment at licensed childcare siteMinimum Qualifications :
Available to work between the hours of 2 pm-7 pm Monday - Friday during the school year; up to 37.5 hours per week during summer Monday - FridayAbility to be a positive role modelAbility to establish rapport and build relationshipsAbility to relate to at-risk youthAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsMust be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certificationMust be able to pass any and all required background screens and drug screens at any timePreferred Qualifications :
Some CollegeAbility to facilitate, teach, or instructBilingualCurrently certified in CPR / First AidKnowledge of various program areas such as healthy lifestyles, culture and arts, academics, social development and teen interestsWork experience or program knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club Movement (national and / or local Club) is an advantagePay & Benefits :
Hourly pay : $14.05 (Non-Exempt)
Benefits : Eligible for paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay
