Description

Introduction : Are you passionate about animal care and looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to a veterinary team? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Surgical Assistant to join our fast-paced, compassionate clinic. If you are a team player with a love for animals, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist veterinarians and surgical staff during surgical procedures, including prepping animals, handling surgical instruments, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Ensure the surgical area is properly sterilized and organized.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including anesthetic induction, positioning, and monitoring during recovery.
  • Provide post-operative care to animals and assist with discharge instructions for owners.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Help manage surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring they are sterilized and well-stocked.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients before, during, and after surgeries.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and other veterinary staff members.

Requirements

Qualifications :

  • Experience in a veterinary practice, with specific experience in surgical assistance preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary surgical procedures and protocols.
  • Certification in veterinary technology or assistant training is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compassionate, patient, and calm when handling animals and clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
