Job Summary :
The Communications & Marketing Director is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that aligns with our organization's mission, goals, and objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional storytelling skills, an understanding of the private and / or government sector, and a passion for creating impactful marketing campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
Strategic & Marketing Communications :
- Work closely with the AMC team and executive board to ensure brand consistency and create opportunities for membership engagement in alignment with AMC signature events
- Provide strategic and timely communications materials including talking points and fact sheets for the Executive Director and the Executive Board
- Craft compelling stories that engage, inspire, and educate audiences, highlighting the impact of our organization’s work
- Develop content in creative formats, including websites, newsletters, presentations, and videos
- Plan and implement engaging digital and social media campaigns
Media Relations :
Oversee the creation and distribution of press releases / press statements, opinion editorials for public media, social media posts, newsletters and website materials that elevate the mission and voice of the AMCCultivate and maintain proactive relationships with media outlets both in Arizona and in MexicoJob Requirements :
Proficiency in various marketing tools and technologies, including social media platforms, membership platforms and analytical toolsExceptional storytelling and writing skills, with a talent for translating data and policy into engaging and accessible contentA minimum of 7 years of experience in communications and marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership roleProven experience in developing and executing successful marketing campaignsStrong understanding of branding, public relations and online mediaBilingual English & SpanishQualifications :
While normal office hours are 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM, flexibility is required to work outside of normal business hours on occasion, including some weekendsPhysical requirements include : lifting (20 lbs), carrying, bending, sitting, and standing for long periods of timeRemains curious and is willing to experiment, ask questions and seek help (and sometimes fail) in small waysAbility to travel, including to Mexico, at times for periods of 3-5 days, multiple times per yearA willingness to regularly give and receive feedback; approaches work with a growth mindsetStrong organizational skills and ability to adjust priorities in pressure situationsIf this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply :
