Job description

We are looking for an Auditor in Jacksonville, FL (32217 area code).

Salary : $60,000-$75,000 range plus benefits with a bonus based off business and personal KPIs

Examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements, give advice, or audit and evaluate statements prepared by others. Install or advise on systems of recording costs or other financial and budgetary data.

Essential Job Duties :

1. Conduct a systematic and comprehensive examination and appraisal of financial records, financial and

management reports, management controls, policies, and practices affecting or reflecting an activity's financial condition and operating results.

2. Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or noncompliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.

3. Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting

procedures to record transactions.

4. Applies audit sampling techniques, analyzes internal controls, and examines financial records, procedures, and administrative controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and program policies.

5. Assists supervisor, including accumulating data, maintaining records, preparing reports, and other assigned activities.

6. Ensures production progress, quality control, and efficient use of time and resources.

7. Prepare working papers and draft audit reports, ensuring policy conformance, professional tone, clear facts, and conclusions are adequately supported.

8. Prepares audit reports to provide information on program operations and to identify causes of deficiencies or problems.

9. Recommends corrective actions such as modifying management systems, financial and accounting systems, workflow, lines of authority, and other corrective actions.

10. Examine inventory to verify journal and ledger entries.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills :

  • Knowledge of the Firm’s policies and procedures, industry accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Analyze and evaluate data, identify issues in documentation, and suggest solutions.
  • Ability to make mathematics calculations and tabulations accurately. Analyze, compare, and interpret facts

and figures.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to listen to and discuss facts and concerns from clients, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Education and Qualifications :

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration from an accredited college or university or equivalent education or work experience is required. Master's degree in business administration (MBA) preferred.
  • A national accounting certificate or a Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing is desired.
  • Three (3) years of audit experience in a public accounting firm is required.
  • Demonstrate general knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
  • Demonstrate a general understanding and use of Breeze project management software.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of audit-specific software, Thomson Reuters Advance Flow preferred.
