About the Role
The Deputy Director of Digital Marketing will lead the organization's multi-channel digital marketing strategy, overseeing the social media, email marketing, website, paid search, and paid social media initiatives. This role will drive the development, execution, and optimization of cohesive and data-driven digital campaigns to grow brand awareness, engagement, and advocacy. The ideal candidate will have deep experience managing teams and campaigns across digital platforms, demonstrate exceptional strategic thinking, and possess a passion for leveraging technology and storytelling to support organizational goals.
As a key member of the Communications and Marketing team, the Deputy Director of Digital Marketing will serve as a thought leader, collaborating with internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors to execute high-impact initiatives that advance the mission of the organization. Responsibilities
Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that integrates social media, email marketing, website, paid search, and paid social media efforts
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of marketing professionals, including the Social Media Strategist and outside consultants
- Collaborate with the Head of Communications and Marketing to align the digital strategy with organizational goals and campaign priorities
- Oversee the creation of content calendars, campaign timelines, and messaging strategies to ensure brand consistency and maximize engagement
- Establish and maintain relationships with creators and influencers as well as all major social media platforms
Channel Management
Social Media : Guide the Social Media Strategist in developing engaging content and campaigns to grow reach, foster engagement, and support strategic goalsNewsletter / Email Marketing : Oversee content development and distribution of newsletters to increase subscriber engagement and conversionWebsite : Manage website strategy, user experience (UX), and content updates to ensure a seamless and engaging online experiencePaid Media : Plan, execute, and optimize paid social and paid search campaigns to drive visibility, awareness, and actionPerformance Analytics and Reporting
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all digital marketing channels, leveraging tools such as Google Analytics, social media insights, and email marketing platformsProvide monthly reports and actionable insights to inform future strategies and improve overall campaign performanceUse A / B testing, audience segmentation, and trend analysis to refine messaging, content, and advertising tacticsCollaboration and Partnership
Serve as a primary liaison with external digital marketing vendors and platform representatives to ensure optimal performance and supportPartner with cross-functional teams (communications, development, and program teams) to ensure that messaging and marketing efforts are aligned across channelsMaintain a pulse on emerging digital marketing trends, tools, and best practices, applying them to strengthen the organization's digital strategyRequirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)7-10 years of experience in digital marketing, with at least 3-5 years of supervisory experienceProven track record of leading multi-channel marketing campaigns, driving results, and managing large budgetsSkills
Advanced proficiency in social media platforms, Google Analytics, and marketing automation tools (e.g., Mailchimp)Experience with content management systems (CMS) and website management, including UX best practices.Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple prioritiesData-driven mindset with expertise in digital analytics, reporting, and campaign optimizationAbility to create clear, compelling, and inclusive messaging across platformsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPassion for the mission of the organization and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusionWorking Hours
