Location : Houston, TX

Type : W2 Contract (On-site)

Pay : $45-48 / hour

Summary :

Our client in the energy, oil & gas industry requires a Contract Specialist . The position oversees the implementation of the Procure-To-Pay (P2P) procurement program across various business units, encompassing sourcing, contracting, and materials management.

Providing support to the Information Technology business team in executing the technical aspects of the P2P procurement program through platforms such as SAP, Ariba, and other procurement technologies . Collaborating with the vendor management team on initiatives aimed at developing commercial contracts , as well as streamlining purchase orders, sourcing, negotiations, and contracting processes.

Duties :

  • Assess and validate confirmations while documenting DEW discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with team members and front office staff to resolve identified discrepancies.
  • Engage with counterparties as necessary to address discrepancies.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing and enhancing contracting processes.
  • Manage assigned categories with a focus on maximizing stakeholder engagement and efficiency.
  • Address and resolve contract-related issues and disputes, including pricing, quality, timing, claims, and liens.
  • Work alongside the Legal team to ensure adherence to all clause owner requirements and relevant legal regulations.

Requirements :

  • 3 years of relevant experience within the energy industry.
  • Familiarity with commercial commodity contracts , preferable experience on a trading floor or in a related support position.
  • Possesses a data and process-driven mindset to ensure precision in deal capture and contracting details.
  • Demonstrated experience in generating purchase orders, sourcing, negotiations, and contract management.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple procurement initiatives simultaneously, including sourcing, contracting, materials management, and Procure-To-Pay (P2P) processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, SAP, Ariba , and other relevant procurement technologies.
  • Capable of collaborating across functions and engaging with key stakeholders within a matrixed organization.
  • Robust analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong ability to negotiate and influence critical decisions.
  • Background in procurement, business, and / or engineering.
  • Education :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field.
