Communities of color disproportionately bear environmental burdens. Without leaders who share the values of those communities, their challenges will remain. MobilizeGreen develops leaders who share the values of the communities most impacted by climate change.
The VirtualIntern, which is powered by MobilizeGreen, is launching the Building Capacity, Careers, & Community Internship Initiative , a cohort intern program that partners with nonprofits and other organizations to place college-level students in short-term, project-based virtual internships in communities across the country. The Initiative seeks to close the widespread career experience and economic opportunity gap for college-level students from underserved communities by removing barriers and helping them launch their careers through paid virtual internships.
As a virtual intern, you will be paired with a nonprofit organization and will gain real-world project-based learning, soft skills training, and career readiness development. The project driven internships will including the following projects :
The internship is paid and requires an 8-week commitment full or part-time depending on the cohort session. Stipends are between $2,400 - $7,360 for the program, depending on academic level. Interns must commit to work during required hours. You will receive ongoing training / professional development opportunities throughout the internship.
