The Estimator I is responsible for estimating projects by gathering proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents.
Primary Responsibilities
- Acquires understanding of the requirements of the project to be estimated
- Prepares concise construction estimate per plans and specifications
- Communicates with subcontractors and vendors to discuss bid preparation
- Site visits to gather essential information
- Ensures timely completion of estimates
- Resolves discrepancies in plans and specifications
- Prepares detailed estimates for review
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Proven experience as a construction estimatorUnderstanding of accounting and project management conceptsDeep understanding of research methodology, data analysis and estimation metricsComfortable with numbers and technologyExcellent knowledge of bid softwareGreat attention to detailExcellent communication and negotiation abilitiesWell-organizedEducation and / or Experience
Must be PC literate and proficient in all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook etc), Adobe Pro.3+ years’ experience in construction estimatingBachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction science or related field or equivalent work experienceAble to read engineering plans and specification to develop estimatesStrong understanding of public works constructionExcellent written, oral communication, and listening skillsMust be fluent in EnglishStrong customer service skillsAble to multi-task and meet strict deadlinesWhy Join
