As the Director, Business & Legal Affairs, Publishing , you'll be responsible for meaningfully contributing to the operation of Concord Publishing’s Business Affairs Department, with moderate supervision by a more senior member of the Publishing Business Affairs team.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do :

• Negotiate, draft, conclude and manage various music publishing contracts, including songwriter deals, administration agreements, third party commissions, acquisitions, subpublishing and various ancillary matters;
• Provide legal research and general legal advice to various internal departments with respect to general publishing matters including rights and clearances, as needed.
• Analyze, interpret, simplify and solve problems regarding legacy contractual agreements;
• Assist in the enforcement of Concord copyrights including infringement prosecution;
• Coordinate with relevant Concord departments related to the above matters;
• Summarize, track and manage the same via various tech platforms and applications;
• Conduct due diligence regarding acquisitions and associated negotiating / drafting;
• Assist with general corporate compliance and corporate matters.
• Research and draft in connection with offensive and defensive litigation matters;
• Contribute to Concord’s efficiency and organization through best practices.
