St. Thomas More Cathedral School, a Catholic Pre-K to 8 elementary school, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Communications and Development Specialist. Using 21st century technology and new processes, the Communications and Development Specialist will streamline and foster real time distribution of information to advance and promote two-way communication between school (administration, teachers, students), parents, congregation, alumni, and the local community.
The Communications and Development Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and analyzing comprehensive communications and marketing strategies in order to strengthen awareness and understanding of St. Thomas More Cathedral School. S / he must have the ability to think creatively, strategize thoughtfully, and work collaboratively. The Communications and Development Specialist reports to the principal, sits on the administrative team, and works in close collaboration with the Registrar.
Responsibilities :
- Promote understanding, acceptance, and support of the vision and mission of St. Thomas More Cathedral School.
- Work to meet the Communications Goals in the school’s Strategic Plan
- Ensure consistency of brand and accurate positioning in the Catholic, private school marketplace through messaging, press releases, paid / earned media and graphic design.
- Create or update and publish engaging content for multiple internal and external platforms including newsletters, presentations, talking points, social media, email campaigns, brochures, training materials and video scripts.
- Onboard newly enrolled families May-October in partnership with school Registrar and PTO volunteers. Plan and execute two back to school events.
- Conduct outreach and engagement programs in conjunction with the parish and PTO Board.
- Schedule and give tours to prospective families throughout the year.
- Plan and execute Open House events with school administration to include promotion, setup and the training of Student Ambassadors and parent volunteers.
- Train and collaborate with faculty and staff on student media release and individual web page development.
- Ensure that the website is current and up to date via Edlio with news items, to be included in the weekly BLAST newsletter.
- Photograph activities and events at the school and in the classrooms.
- Head of Middle School House Program : Plan and execute monthly meetings to foster community within the middle school (approx. 140 sixth, seventh, and eighth graders) through service projects, games and activities.
