  • IT solutions company located in the Western New York area (Buffalo) specializing in providing high-end information technology to clients across WNY and multiple states is currently hiring a Network Engineer. The candidate must meet the qualifications below. Must be professional, customer-focused, self-driven, and team-oriented—salary contingent on experience and competency.

    • The candidate will possess the following :

      Responsibilities :

    • Design, implement, and manage complex network solutions to support the organization's business objectives.
    • Evaluate current network systems and infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions accordingly.
    • Lead and oversee network infrastructure projects, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
    • Configure and optimize network hardware, software, and protocols, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
    • Implement security measures to protect the organization's network infrastructure from cyber threats and unauthorized access—the ability to perform and understand network penetration and vulnerability testing with various tools.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to identify and resolve network-related problems promptly.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and IT staff.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and operations, to ensure alignment of network initiatives with business objectives.
    • Maintain documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network engineering.
    • Qualifications :

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
    • At least five years of experience in network engineering roles, focusing on designing and managing complex network infrastructures.
    • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP / IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPN, and DNS.
    • Extensive experience with network hardware and software, such as Cisco, Dell, Palo Alto, and Arista (Others)
    • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, and encryption protocols.
    • Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, netflow / appow, Auvik, or equivalent tools.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving network issues.
    • Relevant certifications, such as N+, CCNA / CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent, are highly desirable.
    • Local-short-distance travel

      Salary : $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
