Description : Position Overview

Davidson Academy is seeking a Christ-following, motivated, organized, detail-oriented, Director of Information Technology with a passion for providing a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment conducive to learning for Davidson Academy’s students. This leadership role is integral to ensuring the school's facilities and support services function effectively for all programs and activities. The ideal candidate has a background in project management and understands the innerworkings of maintaining and improving various facilities.

Davidson Academy is an Infant-12th grade Christian private school located in Nashville, TN. Serving a diverse student population from Davidson County and the surrounding counties, we believe in the Biblical-based instruction of preparing our students for college, life, and eternity. All Davidson Academy personnel must adhere to our statements of faith.

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related technical field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT Experience

Key Responsibilities

Technology Planning & Management

  • Evaluate Davidson's current and future technology needs to develop a comprehensive technology plan aligned with the school's strategic goals
  • Oversee procurement, deployment, maintenance and replacement schedules for all hardware, software, networks and systems
  • Manage the technology department budget and staffing requirements to ensure adequate resources and support
  • Research, analyze and make recommendations on emerging educational technology solutions
  • Coordinate user training and professional development related to technology initiatives
  • Infrastructure & Security

  • Design, implement and maintain a secure, reliable and high-performance network infrastructure
  • Manage servers, cloud storage, backups and disaster recovery to safeguard data and ensure business continuity
  • Develop and enforce security policies, processes and access controls to protect School data and systems
  • Monitor systems performance and troubleshoot technical issues across all hardware / software
  • Oversee telecommunications and internet service contracts and installations
  • Manage printing and copier functionality for all areas of the school and communicate any issues with vendor representatives
  • Support Services

  • Supervise the IT support staff providing end-user assistance and management of technology services requests
  • Implement standardized processes for setup / configuration of new devices, software installations, etc.
  • Ensure proper technology inventory, asset tracking and licensing compliance
  • Create and maintain technical documentation manuals and knowledge base
  • Make recommendations for innovative ways technology can enhance learning and administrative operations
  • Additional Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of networking infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity and technical support best practices
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to multi-task and work across concurrent initiatives
  • Strong problem-solving and innovative mindset to continuously improve technology capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across diverse user groups
  • Experience managing IT personnel and leading training for technical and non-technical staff
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to remain current on rapidly evolving technologies
  • Commitment to professional development and ongoing technical training
  • Able to adapt to a rapidly changing technology environment and modify job requirements as they present themselves.
