Job Description

Job Summary :

The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with physical impairments, disabilities, or movement dysfunctions. The PT designs and implements individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, relieve pain, and restore function, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

Evaluate patients' physical conditions and functional limitations to develop appropriate treatment plans.

Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and assistive devices to improve strength, coordination, and mobility.

Monitor and document patient progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary.

Educate patients and caregivers on rehabilitation exercises, injury prevention, and mobility techniques.

Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations and standards.

Participate in care planning meetings and interdisciplinary discussions on patient progress and discharge planning.

Provide supervision and mentorship to Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and rehabilitation aides.

Qualifications :

Education : Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

Licensure : Active and unencumbered Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of practice.

Experience : Experience in outpatient, inpatient, rehabilitation, or long-term care settings preferred.

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional specialty certifications are a plus.

Skills & Competencies :

Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple patients effectively.

Compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy.

Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation practices.

Work Environment :

Healthcare facility setting with direct patient interaction.

Requires frequent standing, walking, and assisting patients with mobility exercises.

May involve occasional lifting or transferring of patients with assistance.

Shift-based work schedule, including possible evenings, weekends, and holidays.
