Position Summary

Ensemble Arts is looking to hire a Events Kitchen Assistant. The  Events Kitchen Assistant  is responsible for preparing and finishing all hot and cold foods in accordance with event recipes & standards.

This role pays an hourly wage of $20 to $24.

Benefits for PT roles : 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. Also, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.

This position will remain open until Oct 31, 2024

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner in a high-pressure environment
  • Have experience on multiple stations in the kitchen
  • Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meets Events standards
  • Must have excellent knife skills and proficiency in all aspects of cooking
  • Assists the Culinary Management team with food preparation as assigned
  • Maintains a working knowledge of food preparation for standard menu items
  • Maintains a clean work environment, including floors and passages
  • Cleans kitchen and equipment as assigned by the Culinary Management team
  • Assists in keeping all food storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, etc. clean and organized.
  • Assisting the unloading of deliveries

Qualifications

  • Professional work ethic
  • 2+ years of related off-premise catering / cook experience
  • Prepare and execute key components of dishes while ensuring quality and accuracy
  • Effective communication skills and ability to take direction from supervisors
  • Flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings, when required
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and proactively solve issues
  • Support their fellow cooks by being a team player
  • Ability to meet physical demands including extended periods of standing and walking throughout the day; able to lift and carry 30+ pounds, push / pull up to 75+ pounds.
  • Culinary degree is preferred but not required
