Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

As a Public Safety / RF Programmer Analyst, you will be a key member of a team that services all 9,200 miles of Maricopa County while providing a critical communications element necessary to keep the public safe. This position provides all County departments with reliable radios to communicate vital public services, ensuring the safety of Maricopa County residents. As our Analyst, you'll work in both the field and a shop environment and have the privilege of working with various municipalities, such as dispatchers and police departments.

We Require

One year of experience in the configuration of radio templates and programming support of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) equipment

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field

A combination of post-secondary education and / or job-related experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis

Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

Must be able to pass TOC background as part of pre-hire requirments

Job Contributions

Use Radio Mgt to complete firmware and programming updates in the field

Deprogramming radios before disposal

Assist with alias management

Assist with radio inhibits

Physically program mobile, portable, consolettes, and control station radios

Assist with preparing salvaged radios for Risk Management

Use Radio Mgt and MCM to create reports of radios that need either firmware or updated programming

Assist with project replacing radios on the system; this may consist of programming activities as well as assigning radios and procuring radios to be returned

Other job duties as assigned

Working Conditions

Field environment while some programming activities occur in the shop

Ability to lift 30 pounds floor to waist, lift 10 pounds waist to shoulder, lift 10 pounds shoulder to overhead, and carry 10 pounds a distance of 100 feet unassisted
