Position Purpose

Based in Washington D.C., the Government Relations Assistant position focuses on a broad range of administrative support and operational tasks and responsibilities, such as (but not limited to) lobbying disclosures; Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings and reports in connection with a corporate political action committee ("PAC"), including general administrative and operational functions associated with maintaining a PAC; various record-keeping tasks; regular submission of expense reports and invoices; and maintenance of key lists and internal data / information sources. The Government Relations Assistant position includes senior management / executive support duties, as well as a variety of task and project-oriented assignments

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Executes on regular tasks and assignments under deadline with minimal oversight
  • Writes and communicates clearly and quickly
  • Exhibits an outward-facing mindset
  • Takes on new tasks and opportunities on short notice while balancing competing priorities.
  • Records, files, and reports on various operational tasks and information sources
  • This is an onsite position at our Washington D.C. office

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a government affairs environment.
  • Familiarity with FEC disclosure and reporting procedures and requirements, along with federal campaign rules and administrative responsibilities, in connection with administration of a corporate political action committee (PAC), is preferred but not required
  • An interest in and basic understanding of federal healthcare policy is helpful but not required
