Job description

Position Overview : Engineering & Technical Support plays a critical role at Hot Section Technologies, an FAA and EASA certified aircraft component repair station located in Oxnard, California. This role is central to advancing our engineering capabilities, promoting innovation in repair solutions, ensuring strict regulatory compliance, and providing robust technical support. By driving continuous improvement, the Engineering & Technical Support contributes directly to our ability to consistently deliver outstanding service to regional airline partners and their passengers.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee and execute engineering initiatives, developing innovative and substantiated repair solutions in close collaboration with RS-DER and regulatory authorities.
  • Provide expert technical support, efficiently resolving complex technical challenges while ensuring adherence to FAA and EASA regulatory standards and achieving measurable enhancements in turnaround time and quality outcomes.
  • Foster and maintain productive relationships with regulatory agencies, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and regional airlines.
  • Champion Lean principles and actively engage in initiatives designed to enhance efficiency, minimize waste, and elevate safety across engineering and technical support functions.

  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or related technical discipline.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification (required).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive technical experience within FAA and EASA certified repair stations or similar environments, including at least 2 years in a technical oversight or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing complex technical projects and direct interaction with regulatory bodies (FAA, EASA) and OEM representatives.
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing substantiated repair solutions, including collaboration with RS-DERs (required).
  • Strong proficiency and familiarity with OEM technical data.
  • Advanced skills in CAD software, particularly Autodesk Fusion 360 or equivalent (required).
  • Proficient with Google Workspace applications (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Chat, etc.).
  • Strong mathematical capabilities, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, arithmetic operations, and unit conversions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts clearly to team members and external contacts.
  • Fluent proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
  • Work Environment :

    This role primarily involves working in an office setting with regular interactions in an FAA certified repair station environment. This may include exposure to machinery, tools, aircraft components, and potentially hazardous materials such as solvents, adhesives, or paints. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, hearing protection, respiratory protection, gloves, and safety footwear, is required in compliance with FAA and OSHA guidelines. Occasional exposure to loud noises, fumes, airborne particles, and temperature fluctuations may occur. Regular presence on the repair station floor is essential to effectively oversee technical processes, maintain clear communications, and assure compliance with safety and quality standards.
