Job Type :   Full Time

Schedule : Monday - Friday 6 : 00am - 2 : 00pm. This role may require flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings to support and execute special events as needed.

As the Executive Chef at American Commercial Barge Line, you will take charge of crafting and overseeing innovative menus while ensuring smooth kitchen operations. You will lead the hiring, training, scheduling, and management of a top-notch kitchen staff, driving culinary excellence. In this dynamic role, you'll plan and purchase all ingredients and supplies, ensuring the café runs seamlessly with fresh, high-quality provisions. Your attention to detail in food preparation and maintaining a spotless, safe kitchen will keep everything in line with the highest health and safety standards, elevating the dining experience to new heights!

What you will be doing... Your IMPACT

  • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and participate in the production, preparation, and presentation of food for ACBL and catered events.
  • Create recipes, plan, and adjust menus to meet the needs of the building population.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement catering requests.
  • Hire, train, and discipline the kitchen team.
  • Coordinate and supervise all the kitchen staff duties.
  • Budget and purchase food and kitchen supplies as well as maintaining inventory.
  • Monitor sanitation practices in the kitchen and ensure that all kitchen safety standards are met.
  • Maintain cost reports and develops strategies to control spending
  • Obtain feedback on food and service quality, and handle customer problems and concerns.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for...

You will need to have :

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ Years of experience working in a professional cooking environment is required.
  • Experience leading kitchen staff is highly desired.
  • Ability to plan and order supplies to prepare menus.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work for lengthy periods of time while standing.
