Job description

Minimal Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of plumbing commercial and / or residential experience / Journeyman required.
  • 3 + years of plumbing commercial and / or residential experience  required.
  • CSLB license preferred but not required.
  • Licenses for plumbing, mechanical, and gas an asset.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, and specifications (structural, architectural, civil, plumbing, and cut sheets).
  • Must be organized and maintain a clean work site.
  • Able to work with a vast range of materials and know the proper installation of products listed below but not limited to :
  • PVC DWV sch 40.
  • CPVC sch 40 & 80.
  • PEX.
  • Uponor.
  • Carriers for WC, EWC, Lav, and urinals.
  • Hangers and supports Roof drains.
  • Water heaters.
  • Boilers.
  • Set all types of fixtures for the finish.
  • Working knowledge of installing electrical systems in a new construction setting.
  • Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation.
  • Positive attitude.

Duties :

  • Install new services on new houses.
  • Locates and marks the position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob.
  • Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine.
  • Install plumbing finishing and equipment as per plans.
  • Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work required and sequence of installations.
  • Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from the installation of pipe.
  • Calculate material take-off.
  • Ordering materials as need be.
  • Soldering of 2 1 / 2" + pipe.
