A Research Assistant at Keen Independent is a dedicated team member who is responsible for creating high-quality deliverables that respond to client needs using quantitative research practices. Research Assistants never let a client down and are supportive team members.

Essential Functions of Position
- Manage and analyze large data sets using statistical modeling techniques in Python, R, STATA and / or Excel (coding skills are a top priority for this new hire)
- Write and edit report chapters and appendices
- Code and interpret data that is gathered quantitatively and qualitatively
- Write summaries concerning results and create data visualizations that public can understand
- Design, organize, manage and support quantitative aspects of research projects
- Seek out and gather information on new proposals, write, revise and edit proposal sections (including cover letter, work scope, resume, experience and pricing); translate complex concepts into language appropriate for diverse audiences to ensure successful proposal execution
- Work in diverse teams of Keen Independent Consultants, Project Coordinators, Research Assistants and subconsultants to execute large-scale research projects
- Manage assigned project tasks and coordinate with other staff members to complete project goals
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in economics, data sciences, statistics, social sciences or related field1+ years of work experience in a related fieldStrong interest in conducting researchDemonstrated quantitative research experienceDemonstrated experience with statistical analysis and database management software (Python, R, Stata, Excel etc.)Excellent writing and editing skills as demonstrated in cover letter and writing sampleStrong organizational skillsGreat attitude, professional communications and flexibilityAdvanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookMinimum Qualifications

Keen Independent reserves the right to appoint a new hire above the minimum position title if candidate's qualifications greatly exceed minimums.

Position is hourly non-exempt with a competitive salary to be negotiated based on qualifications and work experience.
