Strong knowledge of mining operations and the safe handling of equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and address equipment issues. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions. Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and following procedures. Experience working in remote or challenging environments. Additional certifications related to heavy equipment operation (e.g., MSHA).
Job Description :
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator with experience in excavator, loader, and / or utility operation to join our team in the Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safely and efficiently operating heavy machinery in a mining environment.
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating excavators, loaders, and / or utility vehicles to support mining operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate excavators, loaders, and utility vehicles safely and effectively in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
- Perform excavation, loading, and material handling tasks as required.
- Monitor equipment performance and conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure proper functioning.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks and accidents.
- Work closely with other crew members and supervisors to ensure smooth operation of mining activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring the equipment is in top condition.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major issues to the maintenance team.
- Assist with site preparation, including grading, trenching, and other earth-moving activities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
