POSITION DETAILS

Department : Emergency Department

Location : US : PA : Lewisburg

Typical Work Schedule : Evening & Nights (7pm-7am, rotating weekends and holidays)

Primary Shift : Shift 3

Work Type : 0.9 FTE (full-time, 72 hours biweekly)

Exempt : No

SUMMARY

The emergency service registered nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care of patients in the Emergency Service Unit. Reports assessment findings to the physician and initiates emergency treatment when warranted. Is accountable for all nursing care he / she gives during a shift. Is responsible for managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment in the Emergency Service Unit and for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing- diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree program. Current registration in Pennsylvania as a licensed, professional nurse.

2. Previous medical experience preferred. Satisfactory completion of the introductory period required.

3. BLS certification required at time of hire or within 30 days of hire; ACLS and PALS certifications required at time of hire or within 6 months of hire.

4. Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and a FBI criminal history check required.
