Job Summary :

The Intake Therapist assures that smooth, trauma-informed, and orderly processes are followed for telephonic and in-person assessments to assist the physician in the identification of an appropriate level of care for potential patients. The Intake Therapist is responsible for initial contact with referral sources, potential patients, coordinating the referral and intake process and the admission process, providing trauma-informed assessment / treatment of patients, and ability to effectively and timely serve patients, as well as maintaining communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as referring hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. The Intake Therapist will also at times be responsible for the verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed.
