Alter Trading Corporation is looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to direct its maintenance initiatives at its Milwaukee Shredder Location.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Direct and Participate in the maintenance and repair of Mobile Equipment, Shredder and facilities, electrical repair

Mobile equipment - Manage Parts Inventory and repairs

  • Shredder - Deal with Contractors, Manage Parts Inventory, Complete Equipment and Maintenance Tasks, Troubleshoots issue and manage equipment documentation.
  • Property Maintenance - Handle repairs, Manage contractors and oversee annual inspections.
  • Actively promote plant safety programs and procedures that follow company and regulatory requirements, striving for continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
  • Provide mechanical expertise to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and records as needed to properly track and maintain equipment status.
  • Communicate successfully with other members of the team to ensure department and facility manager are informed on equipment availability.
  • Work with vendors to ensure services are performed in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Oversee all maintenance and preventative maintenance programs, including troubleshooting and repair, and perform hands-on maintenance work.
  • Evaluate equipment reliability and take appropriate actions to improve performance.
  • Identify technical problems and provide practical solutions appropriate to the size and complexity of projects.
  • Cross-train, learn and support other functions or processes as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • ABOUT YOU

  • 3-5 years leading a maintenance function, required
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Hydraulic and Electrical Understanding.
  • Two-year AAS (technical degree) and / or technical certification in welding, hydraulics, electrical systems or industrial mechanics preferred.
  • Ability to do welding and fabricating work, preferred.(inspect)
  • Must have experience troubleshooting low voltage circuitry – 24 volt; 12 volt; or 10 volt.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills required. Timely follow up is critical in this position. Communications must be detailed, respectful and constructive.
  • Familiarity with heavy mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and material separators a plus
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30-50 pounds.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel to communicate and track information.
  • Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license.
