About the Role

The Billing and Authorization Supervisor leads the insurance verification, charge posting, authorization, and account integrity departments within the Central Business Office (CBO). This role ensures efficient and accurate processes aligned with organizational goals, manages staff performance, resolves operational issues, and drives process improvements. Ideal for a detail-oriented leader, this position is key to maintaining compliance and supporting seamless healthcare operations.

We are seeking a Billing and Authorization Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Pinnacle Fertility in Scottsdale, AZ . This is a full-time, onsite position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accurate and timely charge posting and insurance verification, leveraging AI tools to ensure correct billing and minimize delays.
  • Supervise the authorization process, ensuring timely approvals, proper documentation, and effective follow-up with insurers.
  • Conduct performance reviews, address performance issues, recruit team members, and ensure efficient resolution of billing and insurance support tickets.
  • Implement AI-driven process enhancements and ensure compliance with industry regulations, including HIPAA and payer policies.
  • Act as a liaison with cross-departmental teams, ensuring smooth operations and timely reporting of performance metrics and challenges.
  • Create training resources, mentor team members, and address skill gaps to maintain team proficiency.
  • Handle escalated billing, verification, and authorization issues, ensuring accurate and timely resolutions.
  • Other duties and projects assigned

Position Requirements

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent coding certification.
  • Experience :

    • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, charge posting, and / or prior authorization, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Strong understanding of charge posting, insurance verification, and prior authorization procedures in healthcare.
  • Experience with coding, insurance claim processes, and payer-specific requirements.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and payer policies.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams and meet deadlines.
  • Skills :

    • Proficient in using billing systems, EHR systems, and other relevant software.

  • Ability to analyze workflows and implement process improvements to optimize team performance and reduce errors.

    • Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual Salary : $70,000-$85,000 (final offers based on experience, skills, and qualifications).
