About the Building Engineer

As a Building Engineer at Belmont Park, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality, safety, and efficiency of our facilities. Responsibilities include performing maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Ideal candidates have strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to keeping our park operating at its best.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain Park Facilities - Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building systems.
  • Troubleshoot & Repair Equipment - Diagnose issues with electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Ensure Safety & Compliance - Follow all safety protocols, building codes, and industry standards to maintain a secure environment.
  • Support Special Projects - Assist with facility upgrades, renovations, and installations as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Team - Work with other departments to address maintenance needs and support park operations.

    Requirements

    Physical Requirements :

  • Able to stand, walk, and sit up to 8 hours in a single day.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs. All lifts over this limit require assistance from a co-worker or the use of a mechanical device.
  • Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms,
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear, taste, smell.
  • Frequent use of protective equipment for eyes, hearing, head covering, arms, hands and fingers, legs, feet and toes, and body protection.
  • Able to safely perform heavy, physically demanding work : crawling, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and lifting materials and equipment.
  • Required to work at heights above 70 feet.
  • Occasionally working in extreme cold, heat / sun, temperature change, wetness, and humidity. Working in confined spaces, intense vibrations, fumes, dust, mist, gases, and caustic chemicals.
  • Skills / Qualifications :

  • Minimum 2 years or relevant / related work experience
  • HVAC Certification required
  • Must be experienced in a specific trade of installations and maintenance
  • Increased ability to perform routine and preventative maintenance
  • Demonstrated skill set, knowledge, ability, and willingness to learn
  • Demonstrates a desire to grow in their trade / craft
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have an aptitude and desire for additional training
