OSEH is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Transportation to oversee transportation infrastructure projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in civil engineering with expertise in transportation systems, including roadways, highways, bridges, and transit systems. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills to manage multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with regulations, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities
A) Business Development
- Coordinate with the leadershio team in assemblng yearly marketing and project revenue goals.
- The Director of Transportation will identify strategic design projects for OSEH to pursue in both Prime and Subconsultat roles.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with other consulting engineering firms to grow business and propose new opportunities in efforts to increase overall company work backlog.
- Identify new market sectors, areas of opportunities for business development and expansion.
B) Project Management
Act as the primary point of contact and principal for OSEH Phase I / II design contracts as a Prime and SubconsultantDevelop project scopes of work, project schedules, and upper limits of compensation.Manage and review contract plans, submittals, deliverables, and other documents for consistency with work scope, assessing conformance to contract specifications and resolving any conflicts in interpretation.Oversee and ensure all drawings and specifications properly relate to project requirements.Facilitate OSEH's quality control procedures for deliverable generation, archiving, and distribution / transmittal.Attend project kick-off meetings, coordination meetings, and progress meetings as required.Monitor overall design project tasks to ensure contracts are executed as agreed.C) Staff Mentorship
Develop workload forecasting and manpower reporting to maintain a high staff utilization rate.Manage and mentor staff members, assisting in their professional / technical development.Participate in professional industry organizations, events, and technical committees.Other duties as assigned.Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).Professional Engineer (PE) license required.Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on transportation infrastructure projects.Proven experience in managing large-scale transportation projects from design through construction.Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, roadway design, traffic engineering, and project management.Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management tools.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation regulations and permitting processes.Benefits :
