The St. Louis Post-Dispatch / stltoday.com is seeking a temporary photographer / videographer.

The ideal candidate will be efficient in shooting stills for daily assignments and must be comfortable producing and editing short video for our stltoday.com website in a timely manner to meet deadlines.

Being a self-starter when it comes to generating photo / video ideas and content is a must. This position could range from 3 to 12 months.

The ideal candidate must possess the following :

• Four-year college degree and / or at least 2 years of video / photo-journalism experience for a daily newspaper or other journalism based company
• Portfolio demonstrating a range of video and still work
• Great photo / video storytelling, editing and writing skills
• Highest journalism ethics
• Excellent communication, written and verbal skills
• Strong news judgment
• Proficiency in managing social media to promote work
• Ability to carry and manage necessary gear to produce daily work in various terrains
• Willingness to work all shifts
• Some assignments require walking, carrying camera and video gear while working in extreme weather conditions while getting from one location to another to meet daily and breaking news deadlines.
