Physical Requirements :
This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; lifting, pushing, and / or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Also involves some risk of back injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; and exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts / punctures, burns, and combative / violent people.
Shift :
Supports hepatitis C and MASLD / MASH programs. Hours M-F 8-4 : 30, subject to change based on needs of the program
Job Summary :
This Specialty Pharmacy position will support UK ambulatory clinics in the management of patients requiring medications in the UKSPIS Liver Program and support other identified healthcare initiatives. Through implementation of best practice patient care management and individualized patient education based upon specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, the UK Specialty Pharmacy will standardize and create lean workflows, increase uptake for appropriate therapy , improve patient satisfaction, increase capture rate for these therapies, and track outcomes of therapy. The creation of a UK HealthCare Specialty Pharmacy Liver Program will allow a streamlined, internal management of patients requiring minimal external partners and decreasing turnaround time to treatment for each patient. Identification and appropriate referrals to specialty clinics for patients with more advanced disease. This position will provide a high patient touch service while obtaining affordable and timely access to these medications.
