Salary : SUMMARY
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor supporting the delivery of clinical services in the outpatient addiction treatment programs, reporting directly to the Director of Outpatient Services / Clinical Director or their designee.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be licensed by the State of Texas as a Qualified Credentialed Counselor (LCDC, LPC, LCSW, CI) and be in good standing. If in recovery, must have two years of sobriety / recovery and be actively working a recovery program.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Education commensurate with licensure, prefer master degree. At least one year experience working in substance abuse treatment facility required. Work experience in 12-step emersion program preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, long correspondence, and memos. Ability to write complex correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to navigate a computer and use and windows based operating system. Must be able to navigate the agency electronic medical record.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete and abstract variables in all situations.
