Description : Position Summary
The Clinical Operations Director is responsible for overseeing all of the day-to-day clinical support operations of the medical clinic. They direct, supervise, and coordinate staff and activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient service, as well as the operational guidance for technology, and laboratory services.
Scope of Tasks & Responsibilities :
- Oversee all of the day-to-day operations of the clinic ensuring staff compliance with established standards and provide support to all clinic staff
- Assist with education and follow up to assure staff adherence to internal policies and procedures.
- Oversee annual training requirements for compliance and quality initiatives
- Supervise department staff, including scheduling, approving timesheets, training, resolving conflicts and patient complaints, ensuring policies and procedures are followed in compliance with federal regulations.
- Act as a liaison between all departments of clinic, including medical, behavioral, dental, optometry and enabling services to support leadership team initiatives and cohesiveness among the departments and that the Primary Care Medical Home model is demonstrated
- Assist with hiring, orientation, training and coaching of all clinical staff.
- Monitor the medical clinic budget by implementing an inventory control system related to clinical supplies and immunizations / medications that stays compliant with cost-cutting initiatives and appropriate supply inventories
- Oversee the primary Vaccine Coordinator for the clinic in accordance to the Vaccine Management Plan
- Provide ongoing communication to medical director, physicians, staff and senior management regarding pertinent clinical issues.
- Collaborate with the management team on efforts to build and maintain effective clinic workflow and schedule to ensure productivity standards are met
- Create and administer clinic policies and procedures that support operational efficiencies and productivity standards
- Work in conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer to develop and implement clinic performance and quality metrics and produce reports for management
- Assist with Risk reduction and assuring a highly reliable organization in practice
- Assist medical director in assuring adequate clinical staff training and competence.
- Attend required meetings and training and participates in committees as requested
- Develop and post clinic staff schedule. Redirect resources to maintain adequate provider coverage
- Oversee ordering of medication, medical supplies and equipment, and VFC & other vaccine refrigerator temperatures.

- Responsible for ongoing professional development to maintain appropriate licensure and continuing education credentials.
- Maintain strict patient and employee confidentiality in compliance with RHC policies and HIPAA guidelines.

Required Education, Certification, Experience and Skill :
Graduate of an accredited School of NursingLicensed LPN or RN with a minimum of 3 years clinical experience; family practice or medical office experience highly preferredAt least 3 years supervisory experience requiredCurrent certification in basic life support training (BLS)Current TB certification or earned within 1 monthPossess strong communication and supervisory skills :Critical thinking skills to analyze problems and create positive solutionsStrong organizational and time management skills, as evidenced by a capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and role componentsConflict resolution skillsPrioritize, organize, direct, and delegate work appropriatelyGive clear and timely directivesProvide adequate accountability and encouragement to staff for the tasks givenKnowledge of nursing and patient care principles and procedures related to position responsibilities
