JOB SUMMARY

UHD Bilingual e-Library is seeking seven (7) bilingual teachers’ assistants in Aldine ISD to implement a grant to support Hispanic families in addressing issues related to connectivity, literacy, and the preparation for the labor market in Houston, Texas.

DUTIES

  • Mobilize Hispanic families to become users of the UHD Bilingual e-Library
  • Plan and participate in monthly activities to celebrate literacy using the UHD e-Library at the school
  • Encourage Hispanic families to write stories using the library’s YouTube channel
  • Disseminate information about the UHD degree offering
  • Work with the UHD e-Library Coordinator to encourage Hispanic families to attend monthly meetings at UHD Main (face-to-face or online)
  • Serve as a communication liaison with the school's teachers and staff.

MARGINAL DUTIES

  • Performs all other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Required Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Communication, Business, Psychology, Social Services, or a related field

    • Required Experience :

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a teacher

    • License / Certification :

  • Elementary Certification

    • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Practical bilingual (Spanish and English) communication skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening)
  • Experience working with families
