The Accounts Receivable Manager supervises and coordinates accounts receivable activities, processing payments, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
As an Accounts Receivable Manager, you will :
- Oversee order to cash cycle activities while ensuring accounting accuracy and completeness; manage resources appropriately to balance workload and ensure key performance metrics are met
- Drive team performance by managing the on-boarding & training process, setting clear expectations, and measuring results; participate in the performance management process, including performance reviews, team & individual development
- Identify training, education, and upskilling needs within the team; deploy as needed to ensure operational targets are maintained as well as accounting policies and procedures are followed appropriately
- Collaborate with the team and business partners to identify, design, and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness
- Oversee, support, and perform accounting activities, including month end close journal entries, account reconciliations and balance sheet fluctuation explanations; manage the monthly close process
- Analyze department metrics, including staff productivity and key performance metrics; recommend solutions to drive execution or improve performance
- Lead and participate as a subject matter expert for accounts receivable in projects that span multiple departments and / or the company as new initiatives are deployed to meet business goals
- Assist the Senior Manager and / or Director with staff communications, issue resolution, goal setting, and maintaining fiduciary duties and accounting standards

Education and / or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance preferred, or equivalent experience required5+ years of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Internal Controls, Accounting Compliance, and / or a multi-state payroll environment, or equivalent experience required2+ years of experience leading teams to achieve common goals, including managing the work of direct and / or indirect reports highly preferredStrong accounting skills including general knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Knowledge of Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and / or Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) is a plusAccredited Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable Manager Certification preferredProject management experience preferredExperience and knowledge in Cloud-based ERP solutions, Workday, robotics, OCR technologies, and various automations desirableProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) requiredAbout CarMax
