The John Hope and Aurelia E. Franklin Library is currently in search of a forward-thinking, collaborative, and team-oriented Digital Archivist to play a pivotal role in our exciting project, "Forging Future Pathways Forward : Building a Portal to Rosenwald Collections for all at Fisk University." This digital initiative is aimed at digitizing and providing online access to the invaluable records and photographs contained within the Julius Rosenwald Fund archive.
As a Digital Archivist at our institution, you will be the driving force behind this project, offering your leadership and expertise to ensure its success. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of archival work, including metadata management, imaging, quality control, and digital content management. You will also assume the role of Project Manager, collaborating closely with the rest of the project team to achieve our objectives.

In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time achieving each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the University : For this implementation grant, support of the primary tasks of the project will suffice.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education : Master’s degree in library or information science with a broad knowledge of technology, or at least a master’s degree in information technology or a related field
Experience : Minimum of 2 years experience with digital archives, preservation, or life cycle planning. Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to keep current with standards and new technologies. Demonstrated commitment to the promotion and enhancement of equity, diversity, and inclusion
