Job description

The University of South Carolina Salkehatchie is seeking an Assistant Dean of Student Success and Enrollment Management (“Assistant Dean”). USC Salkehatchie is one of four Palmetto College regional campuses with the University of South Carolina and serves a five-county area in southwestern   South Carolina. USC Salkehatchie delivers courses, degrees, and services that enhance employment and cultural opportunities through the efforts of a faculty committed to high-quality teaching, scholarship, and service. The Assistant Dean is required to provide leadership in the development of a holistic student support model that is adopted across campus, while creatively expanding the outreach and recruitment activities that are integral to the continued evolution and implementation of a Strategic Enrollment Management Plan. This includes an appreciation for the shifting dynamics of today’s traditional and nontraditional student population. This also requires an understanding of how to attract students within these populations to USC Salkehatchie, including those who prefer to enroll only in online offerings. The Assistant Dean will oversee activities, programs, and initiatives designed to attract and enroll a diverse prospective applicant pool. The Assistant Dean will also ensure that sufficient programs and support are developed and offered to improve student success. The Assistant Dean is responsible for the leadership of multiple staff and departments and must be able to work collaboratively with all areas of the College.

The Assistant Dean will provide leadership, direction, oversight and development for Student Affairs for USC Salkehatchie with two campuses located in Allendale, SC and Walterboro, SC. Functional areas include Student Life, Alumni Activities, Counseling and Disabilities Services, Retention and Student Support Services, Academic Advising; as well as the departments of the Registrar and Financial Aid. The Assistant Dean will serve as the campus’ Title IX Officer, liaison for off-campus student housing, coordinating the Student Care and Outreach Team and University 101. This position has a  proposed start date of April 1, 2025, and will be reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs.
