LHH is partnering with a large company in the Tacoma, WA area to search for a temporary to hire Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of payroll processing experience and have worked on ADP before. This role is responsible for processing for a high amount of employees so someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment is preferred. You will work on a team and be trained, but you will have your own deadlines and workload to be responsible for. This position is fully onsite but there is free parking.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all employees on a regular basis, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Stay updated on changes in payroll policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, earnings, and deductions. Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll data.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management, including summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, and other relevant metrics.
  • Address and resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies in a timely manner. Provide support to employees with payroll inquiries.
  • Manage and update payroll systems and software, ensuring they are functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Assist with internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Coordinate with benefits administrators to ensure accurate deductions and contributions for employee benefits.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the payroll function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing or a related field.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems, such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing and record-keeping.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex payroll information to employees and management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve payroll issues and discrepancies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll information.
  • Pay Details : $26.00 to $28.00 per hour
