Position Summary
The Director of Facilities is responsible for assisting the General Manager in all aspects of revenue, room inventory, hotel maintenance and occupancy percentage in accordance with budget. Maintain labor and operating budgets for all departments reporting to position. Establish efficient productivity through assistance from department managers and supervisors. This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day.
Physical responsibilities include exerting physical effort in lifting / transporting at least 50 pounds. Push / pull carts and equipment up to 150 pounds. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas. Work environment - Kitchen, restaurant, and all areas of the hotel. Job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for lengthy periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree or 4 years' department management experience in rooms division or related disciplines. Minimum 3-4 years of supervisory experience. Hotel Management preferred.
Related Work Experience : Requires a minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages. Preferred experience includes methods and materials for general building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC. Proficiency in the use and repair of common tools and equipment for general maintenance is essential. Experience in the maintenance and repair of major facilities, as well as systems design and troubleshooting, is also required. A journeyman skill level in the use of tools and equipment relevant to the maintenance profession is expected.
Preferred to have experience with hotel housekeeping processes and procedures. Experience with hotel housekeeping processes and procedures is highly desirable. Familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred. Experience with food & beverage (POS) Point of Sale System is preferred. Knowledge of various food service styles. Certification in alcohol awareness program and food handlers. Prefer previous guest / customer relations training. Good understanding of the English language and communication skills both written and verbal.
Supervisory Experience : Minimum 3-4 years of supervisory experience. Hotel Management preferred.
