Job Description
Summary of Position-
The In-house Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and managing all aspects of Dollar Tree and Dollar Tree Canada Store Planners, which includes photography, design, editing photos, and coordination with the promotions planning team. The role will also be handle designing in-store seasonal signage and creative tool kits.
The Designer must visually convey strategic marketing objectives, maintain company brand standards, and should be knowledgeable of emerging trends in graphic and visual design, developing creative solutions that achieve business goals, and raise the bar for customer experience.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, an impeccable eye for design, and a winning track record of delivering content on time and on brand.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities-
- Responsible for all layout / art associated with 14 sales planners (multi-page booklet style document with numerous photographs and copy) per year
o Collaborates with multiple departments within the organization in development of monthly sales planner.
o Partners with Sales Promotion Manager in determining layout of planners and messaging.
o Shoots and processes photographs of displays and individual sample items.
Work closely with Supervisor to interpret projects while conveying marketing objectives, brand standards, and consistency across all designsParticipate in meetings to understand project objectives and scope; then brainstorm, mock up, and design brand-consistent design elementsConfidently present and discuss design recommendations in department meetingsDisplay adaptability to produce production / templated designs, as well as conceptual workMonitor the status of projects, ensuring that deliverables are on time, creative management feedback is sought, and the highest design standards are being metOpenly receive constructive feedback from team and modify work to achieve marketing goalsCreate and maintain detailed templates for design projectsHave a strong grasp on emerging design best practices and trends (colors, fonts, layout, etc.) and great attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with tight deadlinesMinimum Requirements / Qualifications-
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or related field3-5 years of professional graphic design experience in a retail or corporate settingProficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)Proficient on Mac platformProficient in photo editingProficient in Microsoft Office programsWorking knowledge of HTML and DreamweaverExperience with a Digital Asset Management Tool and / or Content Management SystemProven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentPossess a professional and positive attitudeDesired Qualifications-
