The Electrical Designer is an entry-level position focused on learning and developing skills in electrical drawings, details, and system design. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow professionally, working under the direction of an Electrical Project Designer or Project Engineer to gain independence. The Designer will focus on both lighting and power systems and will perform construction administration tasks while ensuring high-quality, efficient design work.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Size and lay out lighting, power, low voltage, and communication systems, including fire alarms and security systems, accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform energy calculations and light modeling software tasks.
  • Draft and coordinate construction documents, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Follow company drafting standards, set up sheets, and establish efficient drafting processes.
  • Review and respond to RFIs, perform initial shop drawing reviews, and maintain clean, accurate design records.
  • Use Revit to create full sets of drawings, model systems while coordinating with other trades, and ensure compliance with standards and codes.
  • Perform photometric studies, layout exit and egress lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm devices, and complete light fixture schedules.
  • Draft riser diagrams, motor and equipment schedules, and electrical site plans.
  • Develop relationships with equipment suppliers through collaboration and project discussions.

General Skills & Activities :

  • Identify and apply applicable codes to design work.
  • Review own work and others’ plans for quality and coordination.
  • Effectively communicate with project teams and other design professionals.
  • Prioritize and manage own work, maintain a consistent work schedule, and meet deadlines.
  • Balance work and personal life, seeking help when needed to ensure successful task completion.

  • Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Electrical Design or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant electrical design experience, including internships, academic coursework, or closely related work.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    Compensation :

  • Salary range : $56,500 to $82,000 determined through a fair review of education and experience.
