Job description

The Staff Accountant is directly responsible for processing all Accounts Payable functions, reconciling accounts, providing timely and accurate financial information, processing the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) functions, and contributes to the overall success of the accounting department.

This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing the below duties :

  • Process vendor invoices and employee reimbursements using Concur and / or similar systems.
  • Prepare and process the weekly check and ACH payments.
  • Process monthly Donor Choice Designation, Grant, and FTF Scholarship Payments through integration file.
  • Maintain and update vendor records, including tax documents and payment terms.
  • Process all organizational credit card purchases, ensuring accurate and timely entries.
  • Prepare and issue annual 1099 forms in compliance with IRS regulations.
  • Manage and maintain the Concur database.
  • Support staff and respond to accounts payable or purchasing related requests
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including SECC-related accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies in account reconciliations.
  • Complete weekly and monthly integrations from Andar to Great Plains.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reconciliations and pulling support for financial audits.
  • Process transactions purchased on Amex AP card.
  • Provide back up support to purchase requests submitted in Concur Software.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree preferred but not required
  • At least two years' experience in Accounts Payable, account reconciliation, or related financial functions.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Preferred Education & Experience

  • Concur or similar invoice and expense management system experience
  • Great Plains
