Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including coding, testing, debugging and installing to support an organization's application systems. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Completes conventional assignments requiring adaptation of standard programming / analysis / design / administration techniques to new situations. At more senior level, applies comprehensive knowledge of the concepts, and techniques of assigned specialty area to complete difficult assignments. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May direct the effort of others.
