Vice President, Commercial Deployment

About the Role

As the Vice President of Commercial Deployment , you will be the top commercial executive at GenH , leading strategic partnerships, business development, and project execution. You will drive interactions with dam owners, utilities, and deployment partners, structuring agreements, optimizing our business model, and ensuring seamless project deployment. This role requires deep industry expertise, strong commercial acumen, and a strategic mindset to scale Adaptive Hydro 's impact across the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all commercial engagements with dam owners, utilities, and deployment partners.
  • Build and prioritize a pipeline of viable deployment sites for Adaptive Hydro
  • Negotiate agreements and payments with dam owners, ensuring financial viability.
  • Understand interconnection complexities and develop strategies for seamless grid integration.
  • Assess and mitigate business risks, identifying key growth opportunities.
  • Optimize the business model, ensuring profitability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with permitting and regulatory teams, supporting environmental and FERC compliance.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Significant experience in the utility sector, preferably in renewable energy.
  • Infrastructure and project development experience will be essential.
  • Strong contract negotiation skills with experience structuring complex agreements.
  • Financially savvy, with an understanding of business models, project finance, and risk assessment.
  • Start-up mindset, comfortable operating in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • MBA preferred or equivalent experience in business and commercial strategy.
  • Exposure to permitting, environmental regulations, and FERC compliance is a plus (not required).
  • Hydropower experience is not necessary, but a background in renewable energy (solar, wind, infrastructure) is highly valuable.
  • Industry Experience :

    Hydro Experience is helpful but not a requirement.
