Position Summary
This position is responsible for technical leadership and managing all network related hardware and software, to include all enterprise level networking systems and telecommunication systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage work schedules to ensure maximum system availability, reliability, efficiency, and confidentiality of information systemsIdentity obstacles, issues, and opportunities to increase operational effectivenessAssist with design, deploying and maintain enterprise cyber security effortsMonitor network and telecom operations to resolve problems and ensure uninterrupted servicePerform network design, modeling, analysis, troubleshooting and oversightCoordinate and manage the installation of hardware, software, infrastructure cabling, network switching, edge firewalls, wireless access points and wireless end points at existing and new constructionResearch and recommend vendor tools to support the enterprise and control system networks including all LAN, WAN & other connectivityBenchmark and recommend solutions based on industry best practices keeping up with technology updates and recommend necessary updates in a timely manner to deliver a world- class network and servicesWrite operations technical specifications documentsInterface and coordinate tasks with internal and external resourcesIdentify and implement VoIP networking components, techniques, and protocolsTroubleshoot and triage network incidents ranging from physical layer issues up to application related load balancing problems throughout the network stack / system incidentsDesign, test and inspect IP based data communications systemsDevelop, evaluate, and document network standardsDevelop disaster recovery and business continuity plans regarding network infrastructureImplement, manage and evolve network hardware and software architecture strategiesDrive the adherence to a network security plan including 2FA authentication, firewalls, proxy servers, remote access, and federation Cyber securityConduct operational efficiency reviews focused on the analysis of network performance and identify areas opportunities for improvementReview wireless access point coverage and execute a plan that optimizes Wi-Fi at all cooperative locationsSupervise the work of office, administrative or customer service employees to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines and proper procedures, correcting errors, or problemsProvide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputesImplement corporate and departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with managementDiscuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and work to resolve problemsTeach and instruct employees in job duties and company policies or arrange for training to be providedEvaluate employees' job performance and conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate personnel actionRecruit, instruct and supervise subordinatesInterpret and communicate work procedures and company policies to staffDevelop and review operating proceduresDevelop, manage, and maintain department budget – multi-year and IMSEstablish work priorities and activitiesRecommend promotions, transfers, hires and other disciplinary actionEstablish metrics and prepare monthly reportsAssist with maintaining regulatory compliance and certification particularly NERC CIP requirementsAssist with network infrastructure related components during facilities construction projectsAssist with Operational Technology related products / solutions, to include control systems and networksMaintain the security of confidential informationStay abreast of advances in technologyDemonstrate regular and prompt attendancePerforms other related duties as necessary or assignedSupervisory and / or Leadership Responsibilities
