As a result of our rapid growth and expanding operations, we are actively seeking experienced weld inspectors on both first and second shift. Our normal hours for first shift are 5 : 00am to 3 : 00pm and second shift is 3 : 00pm to 1 : 00am Monday - Thursday, however, we are working overtime on Fridays and Saturdays due to customer demands.

This position will inspect welds to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established PNA, Customer and Regulatory Requirements.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Required Tasks)

  • Must successfully complete internal training program for weld inspection.
  • Inspect welds to ensure compliance with welding procedures, codes, and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME, API).
  • Conduct weld testing such as tensile, bend, or hardness tests to verify weld quality.
  • Perform visual inspection (VT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), radiographic testing (RT), or other non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
  • Ensure welds meet strength, appearance, and performance standards.
  • Verify proper material selection, preparation, and welding parameters.
  • Verify that welding procedures used in production are consistent with certified WPS.
  • Document inspection results, including any deviations or discrepancies from the standards.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, weld maps, and other quality control documents

SKILL SET (Preferred Skills)

  • Proven experience in inspecting welded joints and materials.
  • Experience with various inspection techniques (e.g., visual, ultrasonic, magnetic particle) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and welding codes (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME, API).
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and NDT equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects in welds.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Good communication skills for writing reports and interacting with other team members.
  • Analytical skills to assess and solve complex welding-related issues.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The duties of this job require the employee to perform mostly standing work with occasional movement throughout the facility to transfer or deliver parts. Constant use of hands / fingers to handle and control welding equipment. Frequent lifting and / or pushing up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting and / or pushing up to 80 pounds. Occasional bending, squatting, and stooping. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing this job, the employee is commonly exposed to noise, heat, and dust. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals. PPE is required in this area.
